George Hadley (16xx-1686) in Ipswich Town Records Book
Initially, all affairs of the town were included in the Ipswich town records, including land grants and land transfers. The original records and a hand copy of these are available on film from the LDS Library. A transcript of these records was published as The Ancient Records of the Town of Ipswich, Vol. 1. - From 1634 to 1650. Click to download a PDF version (4.2MB).
These are the records that I can find in the Ipswich Town Records book. While I've been through the films of the original records and the copies made later, I haven't found anything beyond what is in the printed transcript. Page references below are to the scanned pages in the PDF file.
- George “Hadlye” bought a house lot and house at the West end of town and planting lot at Mudy River from Samuell Boreman. August (sixth month) 1639. There is no date on this specific record, but it is between the grant to Samuell Boreman below (22 August) and a record on page 70 dated 26 August, so it is almost certainly between those two dates, likely on the 26th. (pg. 69)
- The house lot at the West end of town and the planting lot at Mudy River were granted to Samuell Boreman 22 August (sixth month) 1639. (pg. 69).
